Pretending it's summer

.
.
.
These photos were taken a few weeks ago when Amanda and I did a photo session called Pretending it's summer. Which really is what we're doing here, and forgetting about the fact that it still is only a few degrees outside.
.
Taking photos in my bed, like this, has become an annual thing for us. This is the third time, in a row, actually.

I am wearing a new dotted t-shirt I actually found at the supermarket, in the children's section (which have become a habbit of mine) since they have the perfect fit I am looking for and they often have much more fun prints, patterns and colors. And let's not forget about the crazy unexpensive prices.
.
the skirt is second hand, as well as the sunglasses. The socks I found at H&M and the shoes are Jeffrey Campbell.

a pool with excellent taste

.
the second day of our trip we did nothing but hanging out at the pool. It was the most wonderful day, tanning, with drinks,  fruits, icecream and lots more.
.
And at night vi ate a crazy-good barbeque dinner outside, with nothing more than a dress on. Which gives you a brief insight of how hot it was, even at night. It was truly amazing.
.
.
Above you can see a picture of our terrace, just outside our bedroom. It was a perfect place to sit and talk and relax after taking a shower and just before dinner, and let's not forget about the amazing view we had. As you can see on the photo below.

adventures at night are the best kinds

.
.
here are the first official post about my trip to Tenerife I went on with my friend Sofie during the easter holiday.
We got there on the maundy thursday at 5 pm and the sun was still up as if it was in the middle of the day and it was about 25 degrees (celsius) outside.
First thing we did was to look at our room, which I will show you more about later on, and enjoy our amazing terrace before it was time to to eat dinner.
.
.
.
.
The entire hotel was totally amazing. The Tenerife island has a lot of mountains so a lot of hotels and markets are placed pretty far up from the sea. Our hotel was one of them, which gave us this crazy-beautiful view over the sea and the city from our terrace. As you can see on the pictures above, the hotel had stairs everywhere and it was truly beautiful I must say.
.
.
.
.
We hade two pools there, one more realxing and quiet and one with constant background music and entertainment. So every day we picked the pool that felt like the most suited one. The service was great and the food was really good. AND the beach was only 5 minutes away.
.
After the dinner we left the hotel for the frist time and went for a walk downtown to look around a little. It was a great feeling over the whole city; countless lights everywhere, people walking around, music playing from different restaurants and hotels, the werid but nice smell of being in another country, malls were opened and you could actually hear the waves from the sea. Experiencing other countrys like this, often feels a lot like every cliché you can think of don't you think? I'm amazed every time I realize that.
.
.
.
However we had a marvelous first day and I can definitely recommend this hotel to all of you; Hotel Melia Jardines del Teide in Playa de las Americas.

I am back.
Back from the most magic week of my life, in Tenerife, with my dearest friend Sofie. And I have a LOT of photos to edit and then post here, so be prepared. But for now you'll get to see this four small previews of what I have been doing and experienced down there. Stay tuned.

a mixed tape for the lady in pink

.
.
.
Here is the rest of the photos I showed you in a post about a week ago, you know the one with my most recent investments. Well anyways, here they are in their true colors.
.
The egg-shaped sunglasses I recently bought at the Red Cross, has a touch of the 50's don't you think? Goes perfectly with my 50's bathing suit.
.
The tape recorder I bought this autumn at a second hand store in Gothenburg. The only thing missing right now is a few nostalgic tapes to mix it with. I had a lot of them when I was younger, which I guess  are up somewhere in the attic but only God knows where.
.
.
This mini-light strand is one of my new investements which is not placed in my wardrobe. It didn't look like this when I bought it, I was inspired by Underbaraclara, so I also bought these crazy-pretty paper mugs and put them on the light strand.
.
the sleeveless turtleneck I actually sewed a few weeks ago, and I absolutely love it. Real simple to do too and a really simple-looking garment, perfectly matched to a colored or patterned skirt.
.
.
.
Both of the skirts I found at the Red Cross recently. The pale one might look like it's white, but it's actually a pastel-kind-of-yellow. Perfect for the easter-weekend coming up. The striped skirt in red and white is truly comfortable and I actually think it looks like a skirt directly taken out of the swedish children's movie called "Emil i Lönneberga" by the famous author Astrid Lindgren. That was one of my favorite movies as a child, so it makes me a proud owner of this special skirt.
.
.
.
.
Lastly I wanted to show you my crazy-pink coat I bought about a month ago, also at the Red Cross. There is not a lot of garments you fall in love with, but this one was a truly love-at-first-sight-moment-garment and I don't say that a lot so this is very rare. I love the elegant feeling and the cut of it.
I haven't found the perfect day to wear it yet though, but now with the spring slowly starting to appear it will be much easier.
.
.
.
And now I am in Tenerife, finally. We arrived a few days ago and everything is amazing here! There will be updates later on.

TCO - introducing a test for future employees

.
Okay so this is something only concerning those who live in Sweden and therefore I will take this in swedish.
.

investments doesn't necessarily rime with expensive

.
.
.
These three black and white photos are just a preview of the most recent investments in my closet. Except for the denim skirt in the last one and the striped Jeffery Campbell platforms in the middle one, those you've seen before. I will show you more about these garments later, but for now this is all you get. Think you could guess which color each of them are?
.
Just a heads up; as you propably saw in the other post my hair has unfortunately lost its violet color and gone back to being blonde. So I went to my marvelous hairdresser to do something about it and so I am now silver colored. It doesn't show in these photos very well, but it will be much clearer in the next post.
.
By the way, I don't think I have told you this but next week I am leaving this cold wheather in Sweden and going to Tenerife with one of my dearest friends Sofie for a week. I am over my head high excited. Just thought you should know.

propellerkeps på sin rätta plats

.
.
I am caught up skirts and turtlenecks right now. You know the feeling you get when walking into a store and you don't actually know what you're looking for, but seem to be drawn to something. Turtlenecks and skirts are that for me in the present. I have felt that feeling a lot lately, which has resulted in me buying a bunch of skirts and turtlenecks the past weeks. Lucky for my pocketbook all of these garments are found at second hand stores and I have also sewed some turtlenecks lately which is very economic way of getting a new wardrobe.
.
How do you like my cap? Another colorful and good-looking accessory belonging to my dear boyfriend Jonas. It is a cap by Ben & Jerry's, you know the ice cream company, which my sister got for him in San Fransisco last summer. It is supposed to have a propeller on the top but Jonas removed it after a while since it wasn't that practical.

a pastel look in violet

.
.
Okay so, as you have probably noticed my hair has been craving for me to do something about it, with my dark roots and all. Now finally, I have and I absolutely love it. This kind of pastel look is something I have wanted for quite a while now. pastel violet with a hint of silver and pink turned out really good, don't you think?
.
and this cute blouse with lace I recently bought at the Red Cross, not a typical garment for me but why don't try something new huh?

rosy and glittery parts of the 80's and 90's

.
So last week I mixed it up a little and tried the most curious accessory; the cap. Unfortunately it's not mine, it belongs to my boyfriend Jonas which almost makes it mine (almost). It is from the 80's which makes it even cooler. And the glitter top I bought a few weeks ago at the Red Cross and is one of my favorite garments right now. And I recently found a pink glitter top as well, it is just something about the sparkling-thing that I am drawn to and it also reminds me of the good parts of the 90's.
.
the suit pants and the glitter top are second hand, the pink cap is Jonas and the shoes are Jeffrey Campbell.

a fairy tale in the aumbry

.
.
These pictures my sister Julia and I shot when I was visiting her in Gothenburg this autumn. It is in her beautiful apartment, in her cute little aumbry.
.
I am wearing a pair of denim jeans in purple, that I found on the second hand store Myrorna in Gothenburg and the yellow dotted top is also something I found at one of all the great second hand stores in Gothenburg. I have a hard time remembering its name though, but I know it is next to the really cool store Grandpa.

Circular flash suits the tie-dye globe

.
Okay so now I am back from all of the holiday stuff, celebrating christmas, waiting for the new year to arrive. 2013 is here now, can you believe it? I am really excited, especially since I am graduating this term.
.
.
For Christmas I got a lot of great things, which I can show you more of later on, but one those things was this really crazy wonderful "globe-lamp" from Jonas. Since I have been looking for one for so long, I got over my head when he gave it to me. It has its own special place and gives my room a cozy soft-blue-kind-of-light-feeling (even if doesn't appear in the picture).
.
.
.
Both my Christmas and New Year was great which I celebrated with my family and Jonas in our cabin up in the moutains. We had the most wonderful time up there and went skiing on Christmas Eve as well as the other days. And of course we also did other typical swedish traditions we have in our family as any other family, but the skiing part has become our most recent tradition and I truly love it. Going skiing in the middle of the day and then come back home and prepare the Christmas dinner and evening plans.
.
.
During the holiday I have finally had the time to spend some time with my sewing machine again. So before the holidays I bought a few fabrics and made two really simple, but perfect tops to wear whenever and this pink tie-dye top is one of those.
.
.
.
.
Also Jonas gave me this antique leather suitcase which I have fallen in love with, it has these really cool colorful stickers inside from different places in the world, where I guess the last owner has been to.
.
.
The pink tie-dye top is homemade and the cool spot-printed glasses used to belong to my grandmother I think.
.
I love a lot about christmas. One of the amazing things is when you finally get to see your family's faces when they open the presents you have planned and prepared for them. It is great. Of course I got some pretty amazing things myself and one of those things was a ring flash from my parents. It is a circular photography flash that you put on your lens and depending on which kind of lens you use, you can get really amazing results.  Like in these pictures, where I used the ring flash together with my fish eye lens. Pretty cool, huh?

Christmas and New Year's Eve, just around the corner

.
.
I guess I owe you an apology for my terrible distans lately. I don't think I have to explain that Christmas is a crammed and stressful time of the year. It's a lot of preparations going on - planning all the christmas presents, making a lot of candy and pastries - and on top of that some last school assignments.
It has been a lot until now, but it is starting to blow over.
.
However, I have recently received the most beautiful dress, as you can see in the photos, from the brittish clothing company Dahlia. It suits me very well and I believe it will be perfect for New Year's Eve. Sparkly and shiny in a nice way, don't you think?
I am not sure what to wear for Christmas Eve though. Maybe I will sew me something, that is so much more fun than buying a super-expensive outfit, which often not even is what you were looking for anyway.
A skirt or a top in burgundy would be nice. Let's see shall we.
.
.
.
.
.
I hope all your Christmas preparations are going well at this stressful time, and that you will have a wonderful Christmas and New Year's Eve with your friends and family.

Merry Christmas

Big Ben in a freakishly yellow point of view.

.
.
.
.
.
When we were i London, Amanda and I, we almost forgot to visit the most well-known tourist attraction there. Big Ben and London Eye. We had almost our whole week planned out with different places we wanted to visit and things we wanted to do, but we totally forgot about Big Ben. Only one day before we were going home we realized that and of course included it to our timetable.
It was beautiful there, like all places in London.
.
This day I wore a Simpsons top. Which used to belong to my brother, before I got hold of it and cut it in half. He had outgrown it, so I tried it on and it fitted me in that perfect way I'm looking for. And besides, it has an incredibly beautiful print don't you think?
I matched it with my new turquoise-striped socks, freakishly yellow cut offs and a bottle of coke with a straw.

.
Since Harrods was closed when we got there the first time, we went there in the day instead for Breakfast. We drank two lovely cups of tea each and an amazing scone with cream cheese and marmalade. Won't ever be able  to forget the incredible taste experience I had that day.

A Poseidon Fontain Was Distracted By A Navy Coat

.
.
.
.
On one of the many walks we went on we passed the huge Poseidon fontain, which has its place right in the middle of Gothenburg. It is beautiful. This was the day when I re-did my hair and cut of almost all of it. I wore my new denim skirt, new red top, new striped sporty-style jacket and my new navy coat with a fur cap. I was all new that day. Don't you just love those days when you've put something totally fresh and new on your back? I most certainly do. The most wonderful thing about all these new things, is that I found it all at different second hand stores. Talk about amazing, huh?
.
However, I am so happy about my new coat. I have always loved navy-colored things, it is not dull lika black, but it goes with everything. Have you noticed the fur cap? It is really soft and cozy and even if it is not that much fur, I feel a lot like little lucy in Narnia. Perfect for the winter season.

in the middle of some Oxford Street stairs with a bottle of coke

.
Here comes another loaded post from London. I hope your not too sick of me posting pictures about, because I have a couple of them left to show you.
.
However, this time we went to Oxford Street and found a perfect staircase to photograph with Amanda's wide angle lens. At the end of the day we had planned to visit Harrods, but we got there so late that they had already closed, but we couldn't let the trip there be of total waste so we found another great place to take some pictures at. A huge street with all these beautiful cabs and red busses in the background. And the sunset was almost too perfect, if you know what I mean..?

the Uconn top is my sisters. The flowery skirt I found at Brick Lane in London, at a vintage store called Blitz and the shoes are still Creepers from Rokit.

Have A Look At My Kitchen Aid

.
.
So, last week I had my autumn break and took the opportunity to go and visit my dear sister in Gothenburg. I stayed for the whole week and we had the most wonderful time, visited amazing second hand stores and picked up some real bargains as the red turtleneck and the corduroy pants (that I'm wearing in these photos). We hung out with her lovely friends and a few of our cousins and other relatives, baked bread and cookies, took long walks to the grocery store, did photoshoots in my sister's amazing apartment, as you can see, and these took place in her kitchen. Sometimes it can be so much more fun to do your photoshoots inside, if you find a spot where the light is workable. I prefer to use my fisheye when taking photos indoors, because then the light usually works better and also because almost the whole room will be included in the pictures, and if it is a cool spot the pictures will come out great.

.
As you have probably noticed by now, I have cut hair. Oh wait, correct sentence; My sister has cut my hair. I was bored with my past hair-cut so I decided to cut it right of. And I was supposed to let a hairstylist do that for me, but they didn't have the time so I let my sister do it instead. And it came out pretty great, don't you think?

Tennisball At Midnight Whatsoever

.
.
.
.
A couple of weeks ago I came up with this idea of having a photoshoot at night on a soccer field. So I brought my dear friend Amanda with me to the green field with white lines and photographed all night, almost anyway..
However, the pictures came out even better then I expected, thanks to the bright spotlights shining above us. We used my fish eye lens and it made the field look like a huge tennisball, which became a pretty cool detail I think. One really should do these kinds of photoshoots more often. In places that are different from the obvious ones, like this soccer field. It is also so much more fun to do it by night, or any other unusual time of the day, if you find a place with even one light source.
.
The flowery skirt that I'm wearing I found at the Red Cross store in Umeå and it fits absolutely perfect. The turtleneck is from H&M, the wine-colored hat I borrowed from Jonas and the striped platforms are Jeffrey Campbell.

colorful streets of Notting Hill need tie dye overalls

.
.
.
.
.
.
Except from visiting Notting Hill that day, we also went to one of our favorite places, Hyde Park. The weather was marvelous and we bumbed into a lot of different, but interesting animals. Mostly squirrels and doves. The squirrls you could find all over the park, so cute and innocent. One even came up to me and touched my hand with its nose. Friendly creatures. We saw a lot of grey doves, but also one white one. It was the most beautiful thing. Unfortunately, hard to get a photo of it when it kept moving around. So I took a mental picture instead. So you'll just have to visualize it.

after all.. I'm just a girl, standing in front of a boy

.
.
.
The fourth day of our week in London we went to Notting Hill. Strolling through alleys eating the most wonderful creamy gelato ice cream. I picked two amazing flavors, biscotto (the italian version of milk and cookies) and hazelnut. Truly amazing. We bought it at a cute little ice cream store called Gelato Mio, which I strongly recommend for those of you who will visit London and Notting Hill.
For me who has seen the movie "Notting Hill", as I am sure many of you have too, it was just fantastic to be surrounded by all these cute colorful buildings and houses and the blue shiny doors with golden doorknobs as they have in that movie. It kind of felt like you were Julia Roberts "Anna", just for a second, walking down the street with sunglasses and visitng small boutiques with books and other interesting stuff.
.
I wore my new tie dye overalls that day, which I bought the day before at a great second hand store at Camden Market. They are wonderful, perfect for those days when you don't have the strength to come up with something to wear. Then you can just put these on and have a whole outfit done already. perfect. I will show you the whole outfit more clearly later. until then, stay tuned.
